3197 Edgemont Blvd V7R 2N8,
Food is very good and staff very nice but portions are too small for the price they charge. Overall was too expensive.
Great family run sushi takeout.
It’s not the best, but I guess its ok for a quick bite to eat (well not that quick, the service is really slow). The sushi is decent, but not anywhere near the quality of Hamei Sushi at west view. The sushi is also way overpriced, but maybe that’s just compensation for the small amount of customers that go in. I wouldn’t avoid it, but know that its not the best bang for your buck...
Went there for a couple of rolls. It was a bit expensive and nothing too special. Waited for quite a while. We did not get any plates nor did we receive any water or tea. Meanwhile, the only other table with people received both tea and water. First time ever I did not leave a tip.
Awesome place to get fresh made sushi. I have been down for work and have literally eaten at this restaurant every second day. Fresh sushi made right in front of you and the owner and his wife are the friendliest people I have met in Vancouver so far.
Fresh sushi but a bit expensive
Very delicious food
Nice, clean, friendly owners and good sushi
Hostess was very very nice. Seafood was all fresh. Even their California rolls in the bento box were really good (didn't use cheap imitation crab)
Amazing and quality service with even better food! Went day after day for lunch and dinners.
I can't really say anything bad about the place. I loved how it was authentic and traditional sushi. The food was good but the service was a little slow as there is just the one chef for the whole restaurant. The prices are quite high in comparison to many other sushi shops but I can understand that as it is a small, two person operation and it is in Edgemont Village where rent and local patron net worth is very high.
Great sushi!!!!
Oh boy, the Miso was aces and the double dynamite roll went down a treat. Lovely little place, glad I missed my bus stop.
Good sushi but the restaurant itself is lacking any effort for ambience. A bit on the expensive side for what you get.
Portions were too small and the entire menu is overpriced. We were not served tea but maybe that’s something that you have pay extra for? The nigiri rice was hard too. Very disappointing as the people who run this place seems nice.
Good sushi, well made. But the service is terrible. Been multiple times and always feel like I annoy the few staff when I ask for more green tea as it is never offered by them. You will need to ask for everything yourself....even if you are the only customer. I only come back as my bus goes through the village on the way home when I have a sushi craving.
Not kid friendly! We came on Saturday afternoon for a quick lunch with two little boys. There was no one else in the restaurant, but our family. The boys weren't allowed to walk around and we were told to keep them on our lap while we waited for food (a long time!). The owners (?) seemed annoyed by us, so we packed our food to go and had it on the bench next to the restaurant. The food went down easier there!
Not going to judge the quality of the food, as it's good sushi. However this may be one of the most expensive sushi restaurants in the GVRD, maybe even pricier that Fairmont Pacific Rim sushi without the live music.
Very Authentic Wating is an issue but with a good reason.Everything is made fresh here and nothing premade.Price is relatively higher but quality as well
Went to a causal lunch. Slow service. When I was ready to order, I don’t know who my server is. And also food came slowly. I ordered lunch combo. Main dish was amazing. But the chicken nuggets and other deep fried things were cold and tough. I think those were pre made. Nobody do quality check until I asked for my bill.
Best miso soup and fresh sushi!
Amazing food with such fresh quality! Portions are great and staff are super friendly! I would totally recommend this restaurant. Definitely check it out!
Unfortunately not the best sushi place I have visited in north van. Take your magnifier to find the tuna chunks in the sushi besides it is really over-priced. The staff are not friendly and treat you like their waitress!
Nice but slow service, we were the only people there but it took forever to just get water, food is okay, small portions, more expensive than most places
Really good quality, one of the best authentic Japanese restaurants in greater Vancouver. Melt in your mouth fresh salmon and tuna. The gyoza and gomae are delicious appetizers
I arrived at 19:00h and they were out of rice. I had to wait half an hour before sushi could be made. Then it took more than 10 minutes before they took my drinks order, even though i was the only customer. Then, midmeal, i was moved to a different table, because they were expecting other guests. In fairness, the sushi itself was good. Unless, your sushi craving is so overwhelming, that you will suffer terrible service for it, avoid this place.
Great and very freshly prepared sushi and sashimi! Very cozy family ran restaurant to visit. What a gem!
I appreciate their high quality wasabi and rice. It's about 50% more cost than most other sushi spots with the most basic salmon roll coming in just under $5. Limited selection made choices easy. If you want a dinner Bento box, there's one option and is $30. All in all, not a bad sushi restaurant. I think I'm just really used to Americanized sushi as a local who grew up eating West Coast sushi with its focus on rolls. I thought it was a little strange to not be offered tea but I am so accustomed to either being asked or just being served tea I didn't ask so my bad.It just felt clunky and unexpected at times perhaps because I was getting a more authentic experience than intended. I wish them all the best!
Great small place for sushi with good value
One of the best Sushi places in Vancouver. I've been going here for almost 12 years. The food is always fresh and made from high quality ingredients. This is good quality sushi, not the cheap all you can eat, pre-made sushi you get elsewhere.
A mom and pop place. The sushi chef is behind the counter in a white kimono and his wife takes orders and does all the rest. They've been open 15 years. The freshest sushi I have ever had. Our group of six had to sit at the bar and we all ordered combo dishes which provide a large meal including miso soup for under $15 each. The only reason I couldn't give 5 stars is because of the limited seating. Absolutely delicious and beautiful sushi!
Very expensive price and terrible service. never come back and suggest no one come.
Clean
Wonderful owners and I have always felt my kids have been welcomed. They are consistently patient with my son's special order, as well. Thank you!
Enjoyed my lunch box which came with amazing miso soup (lots of tofu). I was stuffed by the end of it and thoroughly satisfied.
These owners seem sweet, and I wish them well, but the sushi here is just awful. The place smells like rotten fish. I really wanted it to be good, given that it’s close by, but it’s just not.
Fresh delicious sushi
Delicious and cozy place!!
Very fresh sushi, best spot on the North Shore hands down (and I do know my sushi :) a hidden gem for sure!
Amazing! Always fresh.
Best sushi I've ever had and being gluten intolerant I've had a lot! Also the lowest prices I've ever seen when it come to sushi. The place isn't air conditioned but give it a try :-)
Was extremely I'll for nearly 48 hrs after leaving here Saturday evening, don't risk your health!!!!!
I have been to more sushi places in Greater Vancouver than I can count and this is probably the worst one I've ever been to. I've been there twice now and both times the staff were rude, unhelpful and barely acknowledged our existence. The food was mediocre at best and insanely overpriced. I only went back the second time because I live in the area and thought they deserved a second chance. Never again.
This is probably the best sushi restaurant in North Vancouver. You can also expect friendly service as well as a wide selection of authentic rolls and nigiri sushi. Highly recommended!
Great little sushi joint. The sushi was expertly crafted and tasted like sushi should. Great value for the quality and amount of food. It deserves to be full all the time.
Sashimi 20$ the smallest portion I have ever sawThe California taste bad expensive and not the best I have what to compare with my total came to almost 40$ and I'm still hungry for that price I can find much better restaurants and much better foodThanks that is my last visit in that placeI'm still thinking that sushi garden it's the best place in gva it's not an advertising just for that price you gonna get there much better food with much bigger portions and it will coast less for sure
Great sushi spot in Edgemont! We've been coming for years...
